Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Packaging Operator in Ames, IA to operate an automated packaging line for pasta products, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. You will inspect packaging, verify barcodes, and support line operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of production or food manufacturing experience preferred.
• General knowledge of computers preferred.
• Some mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
• Stand for the entire shift.
• Work safely on an automated packaging line.
• Attention to detail when inspecting packaging and barcodes.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated packaging line to support production.
• Inspect packaging quality and presentation.
• Verify barcodes for proper labeling and traceability.
• Assist with line cleanup and keep area orderly.
• Break down cartons and prepare for recycling.
• Transport materials to the compactor safely.
• Ensure totes are in place and used correctly.
• Relieve other operators during breaks to maintain line.
• Follow quality, safety, and production guidelines.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to address issues.
