Job summary

Biospringer in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Packaging Operator to manage and monitor packaging lines for dried products, ensuring quality and safety. The role requires flexibility for a 6 AM - 6 PM rotational schedule and occasional cross-department coverage to meet customer needs.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, forklift certification, and strong mechanical aptitude. You will collaborate with supervisors, perform sanitation, and support continuous improvement in packaging

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a similar role is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, and ask questions when needed.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic problem solving; strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow safety, GMP, food safety, and other rules or policies.
• Perform sanitation on equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and other assigned areas.
• Monitor quality assurance controls during production and verify codes.
• Operate packing line safely and efficiently.
• Inspect dryer infrastructure and notify management when maintenance is needed.
• Assist in troubleshooting of equipment and process problems.
• Notify Lead or Supervisor of equipment failures and major variations.
• Train and work in other departments as needed; cover shifts when required.
• Drive a stand-up, sit-down, or walkie stacker forklift regularly.
• Other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
