Job summary

Mars Incorporated in Lebanon, TN invites applicants for a Packaging Operator to join our Royal Canin factory team. You will run automated packing lines, setup and adjust machines, and ensure safety, quality, and sanitation standards are met.

This day-shift role features 12-hour schedules, four days on, four off. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement, perform routine maintenance, and document checks, with opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in food manufacturing environment.
  • Operating high-speed packing machines.
  • Mechanical background desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Set up automated packing machines and adjust for proper operation.
  • Clear jams, rework defective packaging, and troubleshoot faults.
  • Perform quality checks and document results throughout packing process.
  • Follow safety protocols and sanitation routines.
  • Complete Cleaning, Inspection, and Lubrication tasks as scheduled.
  • Work autonomously and support other jobs as needed.

Here at Mars, we have an exciting opportunity for an individual seeking employment to come and join our Royal Canin factory team as a Packaging Operator.

The Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained. The Packaging Operator will also play a pivotal role in identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects within the packaging hall.

Shift:

This role will be a day position.

  • All positions work 12-hour schedules.
  • 4 days on and 4 days off- set schedule.
  • Days: 6:00 am to 6:30 pm
What are we looking for?
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in food manufacturing environment and operating high speed packing machines.
  • Mechanical background desirable, but not essential
  • Ability to multi-task
What will be your key responsibilities?

The Packaging Operator is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of automated packing machines.

Key duties include:

  • Machine Setup and Maintenance: Setting up automated packing machines, loading packing materials, making machine adjustments, and ensuring proper sanitation.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Clearing machine jams, reworking defective packaging, troubleshooting machine faults, and maintaining glue and ink supplies.
  • Quality Assurance: Performing and documenting quality checks throughout the packaging process. Ensures compliance with all Quality, Food Safety, and Legislative standards.
  • Safety Practices: Following safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, to safely conduct equipment operations and routine maintenance.
  • Equipment Management: Completing Cleaning, Inspection, and Lubrication (CIL) tasks according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to maintain equipment functionality and cleanliness.
  • This role demands attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to manage equipment autonomously.
  • The position holder is trained to perform other jobs consistent with the skill level and physical demands of this position.
