Job summary

Alaskan Brewing Company in Juneau, AK is seeking a Packaging Operator to safely and efficiently package craft beverages on a rotating shift. This full-time, non-exempt position involves operating canning, kegging, bottling lines, and performing routine cleaning and light maintenance.

The role requires forklift operation, adherence to sanitation standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.

Qualifications

• Forklift operator certificate is required.
• Sufficient computer skills to competently work within our automated processes such as Brewmaxx, NetSuite, and Ignition.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload vans with forklift and pallet jacks.
• Set up, operate, and clean canning, kegging, variety pack, and bottling line equipment as directed.
• Ensure complete transition of assigned position status and responsibilities between shifts.
• Perform light maintenance as needed.
• Report equipment malfunctions, damage, or anomalies to Packaging Shift Supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Clean equipment, building and floors; keep work station clean and organized.
• Perform operational checks including forklift safety checks, DO/TPO testing, date coding, beer tasting, and product examination.
• Ensure finished product is to quality standards.
• Perform sanitation SOPs including parts cleaning and personal hygiene.
• Maintain knowledge of packaging equipment such as pumps and valves.
