Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Cannery Packaging Operator for the night shift to keep packaging lines running at peak efficiency while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will work 11pm–7:30am on the 3rd shift, earn $26.87 per hour plus $1.50 shift premium, with benefits starting day one, and opportunities to grow in a fast‑paced animal care packaging environment. Requires HS diploma and 1+ year manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain packaging line efficiency per plan.

• Maintain cleaning regimes to the highest standard.
• Support operational processes for performance improvement.
• Handle any ad hoc requests.

Shift Schedule:

Shift: 3rds (nights)

Schedule: Monday- Friday

Hours: 11pm- 7:30am

Job Purpose:
The Cannery Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
• 1+ year experience in manufacturing or warehouse
• Proficient in computer software’s including MS office and email

Physical Requirements:

• Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
• Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
• Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
• Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Preferred Requirements:

• Technical degree or certifications
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing role
• Packaging equipment experience
