Job summary

Johnsonville in Wisconsin is seeking packaging team members to operate on the production line, ensuring high-quality sausage products and efficient packaging processes. You will contribute to safety, yields, and overall daily performance as part of a collaborative packaging team.

Role involves lifting tasks, monitoring equipment, and working in a temperature-controlled environment with provided clothing. Expect a 5:30am–2:30pm schedule, with potential overtime based on production needs, and

• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Consistently manufacture “great tasting” sausage products according to specifications
• Work together with other Packaging Members to obtain World Class packaging results in safety, yields, usages, and efficiencies
• Learn and be part of developing and enhancing new technology in the packaging department
• Develop a strong set of world class skills in the area of packaging
• Actively participate in daily Grill meetings and project teams
• Set goals and objectives; both personal and as a team member to acquire "superlative" performance in order to support the Johnsonville Way
• Grow, develop, and stretch yourself by continuing to find new and better ways to meet your commitments to yourself, your team and to JVL.
• Packaging sausage on production line
• Carrying tubs of sausage
• Lifting and moving boxes to pallets and moving pallets
• Inspection of finished product
• Identify products by code and enter the information into the freezer programs
• Ensure the proper operation of the freezer, conveyor systems, palletizing, and de-palletizing systems
• Monitor the status of products in the freezer and be proactive in the prevention of problems. Where prevention is not possible, resolve problems before they escal"it.

Position Overview

Pay Range: $26.55/hr - $27.59/hr + $.60/hr upon backup result block completion

Hours: 5:30am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday (Overtime as production demands)

• Must be able to maintain all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)


• Must be able to actively participate in a team environment

• Ability to see and hear warning devices


• Ability to monitor a computer screen and make all necessary adjustments on the freezer and accumulation systems


• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from +40 degrees F in the packaging room to -10 degrees inside the freezer with proper clothing (provided)


• Must be able to withstand heights of 20 feet or more above ground

• Must be at least 18 years old
