Job summary

Johnsonville, LLC. is seeking a packaging team member to manufacture high-quality sausage products on the production line. You will work with the packaging team to maintain safety, efficiency, and product integrity, while learning new technologies in the packaging department.

The role emphasizes accuracy in production documentation, physical tasks including lifting, and adherence to GMPs. Candidates must be 18+ and capable of working in variable freezer temperatures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Consistently manufacture sausage products according to specifications.
• Work with Packaging Members to achieve world-class packaging results in safety, yields, usages, and efficiencies.
• Learn and contribute to developing and enhancing new packaging technology.
• Package sausage on production line and operate related equipment.
• Carry tubs of sausage and move boxes to pallets and pallets to storage.
• Inspect finished product and ensure proper operation of freezer and conveyor systems.

Position Overview

Responsibilities

• Consistently manufacture “great tasting” sausage products according to specifications
• Work together with other Packaging Members to obtain World Class packaging results in safety, yields, usages, and efficiencies
• Learn and be part of developing and enhancing new technology in the packaging department
• Develop a strong set of world class skills in the area of packaging
• Actively participate in daily Grill meetings and project teams
• Set goals and objectives; both personal and as a team member to acquire "superlative" performance in order to support the Johnsonville Way
• Grow, develop, and stretch yourself by continuing to find new and better ways to meet your commitments to yourself, your team and to JVL.
• Packaging sausage on production line
• Carrying tubs of sausage
• Lifting and moving boxes to pallets and moving pallets
• Inspection of finished product
• Identify products by code and enter the information into the freezer programs
• Ensure the proper operation of the freezer, conveyor systems, palletizing, and de-palletizing systems
• Monitor the status of products in the freezer and be proactive in the prevention of problems. Where prevention is not possible, resolve problems before they escalated.

• Ability to see and hear warning devices
• Ability to monitor a computer screen and make all necessary adjustments on the freezer and accumulation systems
• Ability to work in temperatures ranging from +40 degrees F in the packaging room to -10 degrees inside the freezer with proper clothing (provided)
• Must be able to withstand heights of 20 feet or more above ground

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical and background check
