Responsibilities

  • Read and maintain Packaging Log Sheets.
  • Audit CCP charts and Metal Detection daily.
  • Document production data accurately.
  • Transfer finished product to the Warehouse.
  • Inspect packaging for defects.
  • Follow OSHA and Safety Regulations and procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Packaging Operator, you will play a vital role in our organization by supporting the Packaging team in packaging and storing bagged and tote products. Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely, accurate, and complete documentation and maintaining compliance with GMPs, Sanitation requirements, and performance measures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Read, interpret, and maintain Packaging Log Sheets
  • Conduct daily audits of CCP charts Metal Detection
  • File all charts, log sheets, and production documents with precision
  • Maintain Metal Detector charts and Metal Detector Log Sheets
  • Track and record Animal Feed weights by product
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics and foster a culture of teamwork
  • Adhere to all plant, OSHA, and Safety Regulations
  • Transfer finished product from the palletizing room to the Warehouse
  • Scan packaged products into the inventory management systemInspect all product packaging for defects
  • Perform any other projects as assigned
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work-related experience
Experience:
  • Forklift experience is preferred
  • Packaging experience is preferred
  • Milk processing plant experience is a plus
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Able to work in teams effectively and encourage a positive work environment
  • Willingness to learn new concepts and embrace change
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of ensuring timely, accurate, and complete documentation
  • Ability to complete pre-operational checks on all equipment

  • Attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with production lines and equipment is preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Excessive ascending and descending of ladders and stairs using feet and legs and hands and arms regularly. Body agility is emphasized
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances regularly
  • Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time on concrete
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist on a regular basis
  • Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction
  • Pushing: Using the upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at the knee to come to rest on the knee or knees occasionally
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
  • Lifting: Able to lift up to 55lbs on a regular basis, up to 60lbs occasionally
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Includes activities in which they must accurately, loudly, or quickly convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers.
  • Subject to up to at least 92db’s
  • Subject to temperatures up to 90 degrees.
Machines Operated:
  • Office machines (e.g., personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and phone)
  • Various packaging equipment including powder storage bins, transfer lines, hoppers, bagging equipment, metal detection equipment, inkjets, palletizer, stretch wrappers, fork-lifts, dock doors, dock levelers, and hand tools
