Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Packaging Department Manager in Council Bluffs, IA to lead daily packaging operations in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution setting. You will manage staffing, budgets, and inventory accuracy while driving safety, quality, and efficiency targets.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with 5+ years in manufacturing/packaging, a focus on operational efficiency, and a proven track record in developing employees and meeting production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive management experience in manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or distribution operations.
• Strong understanding of production processes, packaging operations, inventory management, and workforce planning.
• Demonstrated success leading teams, managing budgets, and improving operational performance.
• Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and standards to drive productivity and performance.
• Oversee daily packaging operations, ensuring staffing, schedules, and resources meet demands.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and coordinate with departments to ensure material availability.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, monitor labor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures for consistent processes.
• Train, coach, and develop team members with clear performance expectations.
• Collaborate with HR on hiring, onboarding, and employee relations.
