Job summary

NSI Foods is seeking a hands-on Packaging Manager to own the packaging function from development through commercialization and ongoing supply. The role requires collaboration with Product Development, Quality, Procurement, Operations, suppliers, and co-packers to deliver high-quality, sustainable packaging on time.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in packaging, strong knowledge of flexible film packaging, and experience with corrugated packaging.

Qualifications

5+ years in packaging development or related role in food/CPG.
Strong knowledge of flexible film packaging and stand-up pouches.
Experience with corrugated packaging and printed boxes.
Proficient with Excel, projections, cost analysis and packaging data.
Ability to negotiate with suppliers and influence stakeholders.
Hands-on with samples, mock-ups, and products; on-site in Chicago area.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end packaging development from concept to commercialization.
Develop packaging specifications, samples, testing and documentation.
Manage packaging mix: flexible ~60%, corrugate ~30%, rigid ~10%.
Lead supplier relationships, sourcing, pricing and backup supplier development.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through spec optimization and material choices.
Ensure packaging meets regulatory and sustainability requirements.
