Job summary

LeoForce in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, seeks a Packaging Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily and weekly maintenance for packaging equipment. The role emphasizes TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, and strong OEE ownership, with a focus on uptime, safety, and quality.

You will train operators, coordinate downtime, and drive reliability improvements on a senior level. The position requires supervision experience in manufacturing settings, TPM expertise, and solid knowledge of GMP and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of supervisory leadership experience in maintenance, packaging, food manufacturing, or a comparable production environment.
  • Hands-on TPM experience and sustaining a TPM program.
  • Experience with Autonomous Maintenance and OEE improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, LOTO, machine guarding, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Own daily and weekly maintenance planning and scheduling for all packaging equipment.
  • Balance preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities with production requirements.
  • Prioritize the maintenance backlog based on equipment risk and impact on uptime.
  • Coordinate planned downtime; ensure parts, tools, and procedures are ready.
  • Partner with Procurement and central Maintenance on spare-parts inventory and min/max levels.
  • Lead the packaging TPM program and Autonomous Maintenance ownership.
  • Train operators and shift leads on cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and minor adjustments.
  • Own packaging-line OEE and address breakdowns, setup losses, and product defects.
  • Lead root cause analysis using 5-Why, fishbone, Ishikawa, and A3 methodologies.
  • Develop and standardize PM procedures, checklists, and shift-handoff processes.
  • Supervise and develop packaging maintenance technicians and shift leads.
  • Use SQDC metrics and gemba walks to drive accountability.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Operations, and Procurement to improve reliability.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP and safety requirements.
  • Sustain 5S practices in maintenance and packaging areas.
  • Provide maintenance support during outages and emergencies.

Packaging Maintenance Supervisor

Experience: Senior Level

Salary: $80,000 - $105,000 per year

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Own daily and weekly maintenance planning and scheduling for all packaging equipment.
  • Balance preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities with production requirements.
  • Prioritize the maintenance backlog based on equipment risk, criticality, and impact on uptime.
  • Coordinate planned downtime and ensure parts, tools, and procedures are kitted before work begins.
  • Partner with Procurement and central Maintenance on critical spare-parts inventory and min/max levels.
  • Lead the packaging TPM program, with particular ownership of Autonomous Maintenance.
  • Train operators and shift leads on cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and minor equipment adjustments.
  • Own packaging-line OEE and address breakdowns, setup losses, minor stops, reduced speeds, and product defects.
  • Lead structured root cause analysis using 5-Why, fishbone, Ishikawa, and A3 methodologies.
  • Develop and standardize PM procedures, CIL checklists, maintenance SOPs, and shift-handoff processes.
  • Supervise and develop packaging maintenance technicians and shift leads.
  • Use SQDC metrics, visual management, gemba walks, and frontline engagement to drive accountability.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Operations, and Procurement to improve reliability and product flow.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, third-party audit, LOTO, machine-guarding, and other safety requirements.
  • Sustain strong 5S practices throughout the maintenance and packaging areas.
  • Provide maintenance support during planned outages, emergencies, and occasional off-hours operational needs.
Qualifications Needed
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in an industrial, mechanical, or electrical discipline preferred; equivalent hands-on maintenance or lean manufacturing experience will be considered.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory leadership experience in maintenance, packaging, food manufacturing, or a comparable production environment.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or sustaining a Total Productive Maintenance program.
  • Experience with Autonomous Maintenance and OEE improvement.
  • Strong working knowledge of packaging equipment and common equipment failure modes.
  • Experience planning and scheduling preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve equipment reliability, uptime, safety, quality, productivity, or waste reduction.Experience applying structured root cause analysis and implementing permanent corrective actions.
  • Working knowledge of GMP requirements, LOTO, machine guarding, and manufacturing safety practices.
  • Ability to support multiple shifts and occasional nights, weekends, planned outages, or maintenance emergencies.
  • Ability to work extensively on the manufacturing floor and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
