Job description

Gregory Packaging is looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance and reliability efforts at one of our juice manufacturing facilities.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the plant floor, developing technicians, solving difficult problems, and building a maintenance organization that prevents failures instead of simply reacting to them.

This position is responsible for maximizing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, improving maintenance efficiency, optimizing spare parts inventory and purchasing, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

If you're the type of person who asks why something failed before figuring out how to fix it, we'd like to meet you.

Why Gregory Packaging?

Gregory Packaging is a third‑generation, family‑owned company and one of the largest aseptic and frozen juice manufacturers in the United States. We continue to invest in our facilities, automation, and people while providing stable, long‑term careers with opportunities for advancement.

  • Weekly Pay
  • 401(k)
  • Paid Holidays
  • Paid Time Off
  • Relocation Assistance (when applicable)
Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team while building a proactive maintenance culture.
  • Improve equipment reliability by reducing recurring failures and unplanned downtime.
  • Develop, manage, and continuously improve preventative maintenance programs.
  • Use Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to eliminate repeat equipment failures.
  • Manage the CMMS to ensure accurate work orders, labor tracking, PM scheduling, and maintenance history.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, and process control systems.
  • Support Allen‑Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships while reducing overall maintenance costs.
  • Optimize spare parts purchasing and inventory to reduce consumption without sacrificing equipment reliability.
  • Lead capital improvement projects, equipment installations, and contractor activities.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Safety to improve overall plant performance.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and audit‑ready facility.
Qualifications
  • Maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Food or beverage manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and industrial controls.
  • Experience managing a CMMS.
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance, reliability, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience leading projects, managing vendors, and developing maintenance teams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to plant emergencies when necessary.
What Success Looks Like

Success in this role isn't measured by how many breakdowns you fix—it's measured by how many never happen.

Within your first year, you'll be expected to:

  • Reduce reactive maintenance so that unplanned work accounts for 15% or less of total maintenance labor by strengthening planning, scheduling, and preventative maintenance.
  • Increase equipment uptime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across processing, filling, and packaging operations.
  • Maintain maintenance labor utilization of 90% or greater while shifting the team's focus from reactive repairs to planned work.
  • Achieve and sustain 95%+ on‑time preventative maintenance completion.
  • Establish strong CMMS discipline with 95%+ work‑order accuracy, including complete labor, parts, and failure reporting with timely close‑out.
  • Improve spare parts management by maintaining 98%+ inventory accuracy, reducing inventory shrink, optimizing min/max levels, and lowering spare parts consumption through improved equipment reliability.
  • Develop a highly skilled maintenance team through structured training and cross‑training while reducing dependence on outside contractors for routine maintenance.
  • Improve equipment reliability through permanent corrective actions, not temporary repairs.
  • Build a maintenance department that is organized, accountable, data‑driven, and focused on continuous improvement.

If you're looking for an opportunity where your leadership will have a direct impact on reliability, efficiency, and the future of our manufacturing operations, we'd love to hear from you.
