Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is hiring Packaging Machine Operators for the Weekday Shift (Mon-Thurs 6AM-6PM). Join a company with a long history of quality and a 4-day workweek, offering steady hours and opportunities to grow your career.

Set up and operate packaging lines safely, perform start-of-shift checks, monitor quality, and keep accurate production records. You’ll work with maintenance and others to keep lines running and help teammates across shifts.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Knowledge of packaging machine equipment is preferred, or background in food production.
• Ability to read and understand English instructions and communicate effectively with operators and maintenance personnel.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to obtain a forklift license (training provided)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate packaging lines safely and efficiently
• Perform routine checks at shift start and throughout the day to ensure machines are running properly
• Monitor packaging quality (weights, seals, codes, pricing)
• Troubleshoot minor machine issues and support maintenance as needed
• Keep accurate records of production, film usage, and quality checks
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Communicate with the next shift and support teamwork across lines
• Train new operators as needed
