Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, LLC is hiring a Packaging Machine Operator (PMO) for 1st shift at our Algona, WA facility. The PMO will ensure proper weight, spicing, sealing, and code dates on finished products while maintaining clean, sanitary equipment and timely packaging operations.

Responsibilities include changeovers, film replacement, spice coordination, quality code-date checks every 15 minutes, and working with QA to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience operating food processing equipment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong knowledge of machinery and mechanical ability.
• Experience using production computer programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be an independent thinker and make good decisions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to lift rolls of film up to 50 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Inspects equipment daily to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
• Conducts changeovers, replacing packaging film as needed.
• Coordinates proper spicing with correct packaging film.
• Checks code dates for accuracy every 15 minutes.
• Inspects bag seams to ensure strong seals.
• Maintains efficient operation of equipment.
• Troubleshoots and proactively solves potential problems.
• Communicates with production team to meet schedules.
• Performs sanitation and other duties as assigned.
