Job summary

Mykelly is hiring for a Packaging Machine Operator at the Mount Vernon facility. This entry-level role handles packaging, cleaning and break relief within the production area during a 12-hour night shift (6:00pm–6:00am).

The position involves bagging goods on the bagger, dock operations, line cleaning and basic maintenance support, with a 2-2-3 schedule and a pay rate of $18.50 per hour. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Packaging, cleaning, and relieving for breaks in a 12-hour night shift.
• Spot outbound trucks into load docks and ensure dock-locks are set.
• Reclaim off-quality material and feed back to production line.
• Package goods by loading bags on bagger equipment snouts.
• Perform general cleanup and housekeeping duties around the line.
• Assist with Preventive Maintenance activities as directed.
• Participate in safety programs and follow plant procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Packaging Operator I role is the entry level role at the Mt. Vernon facility. This role is responsible for packaging, cleaning, and relieving for breaks. This role will primarily work in the production area.

• Spotting out-bound trucks into material load docks, ensuring dock-locks
  
• Reclaiming off-quality Unbonded Loosefill and refeeding the material to the forehearth
  
• Packaging operator placing bags on bagger equipment snouts ensuring proper packaging of finished goods material
  
• Performs general cleanup duties in designated areas (including, but not limited to, sweeping floor, blowing down the line/robot, cleaning break rooms, etc.).
  
• Assist with Preventative Maintenance processes
  
• Perform special needs as determined by plant staff
  
• Participates in safety and housekeeping programs as established within the plant.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• 1 - 3 years manufacturing experience
