Job summary

ASR Group is seeking a Packaging Machine Attendant to monitor production lines for continuous and efficient sugar packaging. You will start/stop machines, observe for irregularities, and coordinate with mechanics as needed.

The role requires at least 1 year on high-speed packaging equipment, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays. Safety and sanitation standards must be followed at all times.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year experience on high speed industrial packaging equipment.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
• Wlexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Starts and stops machines and observes for irregularities; assist mechanics as needed.
• Reports difficulties beyond scope of work to foreman and mechanics.
• Operates Heat Seal Packing Equipment.
• Shuffles and fans containers prior to inserting into feed magazine rack as specified.
• Bruns sugar and wax; replaces center guides as needed.
• Checks quality of production and weight; fills sealer with glue.
• Cleans machine and oils moving parts.
• Opens and loads bags, packs per instructions, using hand lever.
• Adjusts scales or controls to obtain proper weight or volume of sugar.
• Removes improperly fed packages from line and discards.
• Keeps records of machine downtime.

OVERVIEW

The Packaging Machine Attendant monitors the operation of various production lines to ensure continuous and efficient product packaging occurs.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Starts and stops machines and constantly observes for any irregularities, making necessary minor adjustments and changes; work with and assists mechanics as required
• Reports difficulties beyond scope of work and conditions affecting operation to foreman and mechanics
• Operates Heat Seal Packing Equipment
• Shuffles and fans containers prior to inserting into feed magazine rack as specified
• Brushes and scrapes sugar deposits and wax; removes, cleans, and replaces center guides
• Checks quality of production and observes flue on bags; fills sealer with glue
• Cleans machine and oils, moving parts as needed
• Opens and places empty bags over funnel of packer and fills in prescribed manner, using hand lever
• Adjusts scales or volumetric controls to obtain proper weight or volume of sugar
• Observes for and removes improperly fed or non-desirable packages from line and discards into drum
• Assists in withdrawing and replacing empty containers on conveyor to insure continuous movement of conveyor, without interruption to machine
• Keeps records of down time on machinery
• Performs all jobs in accordance with established safety practices and sanitation standards

WORK EXPERIENCES

• Must have at least 1 year experience working on high speed industrial packaging equipment or related manufacturing/industrial experience

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Ability to detect faulty production and mechanical irregularities
• This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.

Hourly Rate

• $26.90
