Job summary

American Sugar Refining, Inc. in Chalmette, LA is seeking a Packaging Loading Operator to load and unload packaging materials with a forklift. You will move materials from trucks, supply the packaging house, and haul pallets to the shipment area.

The role requires at least one year of forklift experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Weekend shifts may be needed; starting rate is $28.49 per hour with vacation and sick time after 90 days.

The Packaging Loading Operator unloads and loads empty package materials.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities

• Operates fork-lift in a safe, efficient manner.
• Unloads and loads empty package materials from trucks and railroad care.
• Supplies packaging house with specified orders.
• Hauls empty pallets and drums from packing house to specified area for shipment.
• Obtains equipment from designated location before work and returns equipment when work is complete.
• Performs all jobs in accordance with established safety practices and sanitation standards.

• This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.

HOURLY RATE

• Starting Rate $ 28.49
• Paid vacation and sick time after 90 day probation period.
