Job summary

United Salt Corporation in Baytown, TX is seeking an hourly, non-exempt Packaging Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain packaging equipment in a fast-paced salt production environment. The role is on-site and requires adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include transporting pallets, storing materials, loading and receiving products, maintaining clean work areas, performing routine maintenance, and generating work permits and orders.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Basic math for inventory and production calculations.
• Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operates, monitors, and maintains packaging equipment.
• Transport pallets of salt products from the packaging lines to the warehouse.
• Store products and raw materials in an orderly manner as directed by management.
• Load and receive product, raw materials, hoppers, and equipment to and from shipping and warehousing areas.
• Maintain work areas in a clean and safe condition; adhere to plant and AIB guidelines.
• Re-stack and wrap packaged product safely as needed.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance as directed by management.
• Maintain plant records, logbooks, checklists, work permits, and other documents.
• Monitor and maintain product quality and production.
• Generate work permits and work orders.
• Other duties as assigned.
