Job summary

COMPACT INDUSTRIES INC. seeks a hands-on packaging line lead in St. Charles, IL to supervise up to two machines, run the line at designed rates, and train Packers and Stackers for maximum productivity.

You will monitor checkweighers and metal detectors, troubleshoot issues, report shortages, and ensure safety and GMP procedures are followed daily. Second shift duties apply with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Stand or walk 95% of the time and perform bending, twisting, and stooping motions.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to calculate simple mathematical figures.
• Ability to apply common sense and effectively follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Problem solving and addressing issues as they arise.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand product specifications to manufacture and package a quality product that meets customer and company specs.
• Start machine and observe operation; make minor adjustments as needed.
• Direct, train, and correct Packers and Stackers on the production line.
• Run equipment at designed rates; troubleshoot problems and reduce downtime.
• Stop machine if product fails specs and report to supervisor.
• Maximize packaging yields and efficiency while eliminating waste.
• Provide break relief for Packers and Stackers.
• Oversee and open products that need rework.
• Disassemble, wash, and reassemble machines as required.
• Set up and monitor checkweigher.
• Monitor metal detectors for proper operation.
• Complete production forms using SafetyChain.
• Advise on order or raw material shortages.
• Understand Allergen, HACCP, GMP programs during production.
