Lancesoft is hiring a Packaging Lab Technician for a 12+ month assignment in Trumbull, CT. Pay rate: $25-$30/hour on W2, with the 1st shift schedule.
You will participate and lead testing of packaging components, coordinate with Package Engineers and cross-functional teams, assist in design and development of packaging components, and create and maintain testing plans. Some lifting up to 35 lbs is required; a technical degree or 0–3 years’ lab experience preferred.

This position is for a package testing and support technician. This position supports the Packaging Engineers and coordinates materials, testing, test reports, and some administration work with regards to new product launches and product/package qualifications.
The lab contains several specific test machines like compression & vibration tester, pump force tester, vacuum chamber, wall thickness measurement, bottle fillers, heat sealers for films/pouches and tubes. The technician would learn how to use these (training and written procedures provided), and do these tests and provide the data and reports in typed reports. He / She will be responsible for coordinating and running e-Commerce shipping tests - through ISTA standardized testing. This is the one job area that does require some lifting of cases (up to 35 lbs, but most under 20 lbs) for the testing. About 15% of the job is doing this type of testing or involves physical work. Candidate will need to be willing to do this manual type of work. The role will support the Package Engineers by leading or managing the collection, setup, testing and disposal of package materials. This role will complete package compatibility testing (specific test of filling formulas into bottles or other packages, putting into specific storerooms, and weekly pulling samples for evaluation and data recording). The role includes testing to support qualification of new packaging like bottles, closures or pumps. Concise documentation and reporting is critical in this role. The position will be supported and directed by a Sr Lab Technician and staff Packaging Engineer. Should have a minimum of 1 years’experience as a lab technician or packaging area experience in a manufacturing environment or a bachelor’s degree in a technical field like Packaging Science with 0-3 years’experience
