Job summary

Gem State Staffing is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator / Material Handler in Caldwell, Idaho. You will move raw steel components, chemical drums, and finished coated goods across the yard and shop floor, staging production lines for coating and shipping, while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include operating sit-down forklifts, loading/unloading trailers, staging materials for prep and coating lines, and handling finished items with care.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–2 years of sit-down forklift experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial settings.
• Physical: Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, mount/dismount equipment safely, and work on your feet in varied seasonal weather.
• Safety: Strong safety-first mindset, punctual attendance, and reliability.

In this role, you will be responsible for moving raw steel components, chemical drums, and finished coated goods throughout the yard and shop floor, staging production lines, and loading/unloading freight haulers safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate sit-down industrial forklifts in indoor shop and outdoor yard environments.
• Load and unload flatbed trailers, box trucks, and freight carriers securely and efficiently.
• Stage raw materials and industrial components for prep, sandblasting, coating lines, and final shipping.
• Handle freshly coated, finished items with precision and care to prevent surface or structural damage.
• Conduct required daily pre-trip equipment inspections and record maintenance checklists.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of sit-down industrial forklift experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial settings.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, mount/dismount equipment safely, and work on your feet in varied seasonal weather.
