Job summary

KDC/One SoCal is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in California to ensure high equipment reliability for packaging and filling operations. You will perform setups, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshoot a range of mechanical and electrical issues.

Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3–12+ years of maintenance mechanic experience in cosmetics, personal care, food/beverage, pharma, or other regulated manufacturing.
• Prior experience maintaining packaging, filling, bottling, or similar high-speed manufacturing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and support production equipment.
• Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and basic technical documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Solid time-management, organization, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment and follow all HSE, OSHA, LOTO, cGMP, and SOP requirements.
• Set up equipment for scheduled production runs.
• Perform efficient wash-outs, cleaning, sanitization, and line changeovers.
• Review and update setup sheets and follow production work orders.
• Partner with Line Leaders and operators to ensure smooth line performance and minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on packaging and filling equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, and P&IDs to support troubleshooting and repair planning.
• Assist with parts ordering and maintaining critical spares inventory.
• Mentor operators and peers on basic maintenance practices and equipment care.
