Job summary

State Industrial Products is seeking a Packaging and Equipment Engineer to lead the development, qualification, and commercialization of packaging systems for chemical products. You will partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, Marketing and Operations to ensure packaging is safe, cost-effective, and compliant.

The role emphasizes chemical compatibility, package integrity, product protection, and transportation performance, driving sustainability and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Equipment or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in packaging design or package engineering.
• Experience with packaging suppliers on design, sampling, testing, and specification development.
• Background in cosmetics, food or chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdepartmental team.
• Familiarity with packaging testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Source new packaging and equipment solutions for both new and existing products.
• Improve existing packaging and equipment to enhance functionality, cost efficiency, and compliance.
• Conduct package and equipment testing to verify stability and adherence to shipping regulations.
• Create, maintain, and update specifications for all packaging used in manufacture, and equipment sold corporately.
• Develop and revise finished goods purchase specifications for all equipment; coordinate with vendors to ensure approved and signed specifications are in place.
• Ensure all product packaging meets applicable aesthetic, functionality, shipping and regulatory requirements; coordinate with vendors to ensure approved and signed specifications are in place.
