Job summary

Ocean Spray Cranberries is seeking a Manager, Package Engineer to lead packaging development for our food and beverage portfolio. Hybrid role based at Lakeville, MA with some remote days; you will guide a skilled team, shape packaging strategy, and partner with Marketing, Operations, and R&D to deliver consumer-centric solutions.

You will oversee testing, timelines, budgets, and supplier collaborations, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable packaging choices in a fast-paced CPG

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 7+ years in packaging development within food, beverage, or broader CPG industry.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with packaging testing protocols, shelf-life studies, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in CAD software and packaging design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Package Engineering team with technical direction and performance management.
• Develop packaging strategies supporting product innovation, cost optimization, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Quality, Procurement, and R&D to meet requirements.
• Oversee design, testing, and validation of packaging for products.
• Manage development timelines and budgets for on-time, on-cost delivery.
• Evaluate and implement new packaging materials and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
• Partner with suppliers and co-manufacturers for continuous improvement.
