Job summary

Consolidated Nuclear Security in Oak Ridge, TN, seeks a first level manager to lead Packaging and Transportation (PTE) engineers and support staff. You will guide design, analysis, and certification of Type B packaging, oversee budgeting, and interface with DOE/NNSA. Ensuring safe operations and timely deliverables is essential.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and at least 5 years of relevant experience. DOE/NNSA packaging oversight experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program in the United States or equivalently documented by ABET.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in packaging, transportation or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, technical direction and oversight to PTE engineers, staff, and subcontractors.
• Develop, review, and approve budgets, proposals, schedules and related documents to meet customer needs.
• Ensure safe working conditions, safety awareness and compliant deliverables for packaging, transportation and storage of hazardous materials.
• Oversee designs, analyses, SARPs and approval of new containers on site and interface with DOE/NNSA representatives.
