Job summary

Johnsonville Sausage, LLC is seeking an 8-month Packaging Engineer Co-op with our Research & Development team in Sheboygan Falls, WI. This role offers hands-on project work and collaboration across multiple functions in a dynamic environment.

You will help develop and optimize packaging systems, gain exposure to a packaging lab and pilot plant, and contribute to projects that impact functionality, cost, and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Currently a junior or senior Packaging Engineer major with GPA 2.70 overall and 3.0 in packaging concentration.
• Able to travel to Johnsonville facilities.
• Demonstrates leadership, teamwork, and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design new packaging concepts meeting functionality and cost goals.
• Create protocepts of packages; drawings and computer designs.
• Facilitate plant trials of new packaging materials and/or equipment.
• Adapt/modify current lines/equipment to new processing applications.
• Troubleshoot production, product, and material issues.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering and outside partners.
