Johnsonville, LLC invites a Packaging Engineer Co-op for an 8-month assignment with our Research & Development team in Sheboygan Falls, WI. Start dates Jan 4, 2027 or May 24, 2027 at the Johnsonville Technical Center, featuring a packaging lab and engineering group.

You will design new packages, prototype concepts, and support plant trials while collaborating with Marketing, Manufacturing, and Engineering to meet functionality and cost goals in a team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a junior or senior pursuing a Packaging Engineer degree.
• Minimum 2.70 overall GPA with 3.0 in core packaging concentration.
• Prior work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design new packages or improve existing ones to meet functionality and cost goals.
• Create protocepts of packages using drawings and CAD descriptions.
• Facilitate plant trials of new packaging materials/equipment.
• Adapt current lines/equipment to new processing applications.
• Troubleshoot production, product, and material issues.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering and external partners.
