Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in packaging engineering or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software and packaging design tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ArtiosCAD, or Creo; knowledge of PFEP and ISTA standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement packaging solutions for purchased parts using returnable containers, totes, racks, and custom dunnage solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to create robust packaging and protection plans for large-scale electrical assemblies and equipment.
• Develop packaging standards and specifications for finished goods to ensure protection during storage, handling, and transit.
• Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to execute PFEP activities including container sizing, storage, and delivery methods.
• Analyze packaging systems to reduce costs, improve cube utilization, and increase efficiency.
• Evaluate packaging materials, sustainability performance, and lifecycle cost tradeoffs.
• Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure packaging compliance and integration with logistics requirements.
• Conduct packaging trials, transit testing, and validation to ensure performance.
• Develop packaging documentation including drawings, work instructions, and container specifications.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to packaging ergonomics and line-side delivery.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and customer-specific packaging requirements.
