Job summary

Duracell is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and develop primary and secondary packaging for Lithium Coin and new product packaging, collaborating with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing to optimize cost, manufacturability, and sustainability.

Responsibilities include material and vendor development, creating technical packaging specs, testing, and cross-functional project management across global sites; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Packaging Engineer degree preferred.
• Knowledge of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.) preferred.
• Proficiency in 3D design software and rapid prototyping preferred.
• Knowledge in packaging technology & materials and certificate of packaging science highly desired.
• 2-5 years’ experience in Packaging Engineering/Design. Related Internship experience included.
• Technical mastery in packaging systems, materials, costing and processes critical.
• Organization – manage multiple priorities independently.
• Communication – strong written and oral communication skills.
• Collaboration – ability to work across functions and suppliers.
• Embraces change in fast-paced environment.
• Occasional domestic and international travel required.

Responsibilities

• Material development and vendor development for packaging.
• Work with R&D on product and packaging innovations and interaction with product efficacy.
• Collaborate with Engineering to optimize packaging supply base for cost, lead time, quality, regionalization, standardization.
• Work with manufacturing to ensure manufacturability of packaging designs.
• Develop and qualify new packages, equipment, and materials.
• Packaging prototyping.
• Conduct required package testing and maintain data results.
• Prepare documentation for plants, vendors, marketing, and customers.
• Audit packaging trends and manage project timelines.
