Job summary

YETI is seeking a Packaging Engineer in Austin, TX to support design and development of premium out-of-box experiences for our products. This role focuses on performance, sustainability, and cost while maintaining YETI’s premium brand aesthetic throughout the product lifecycle.

You will gain experience through doing, improving packaging documentation, and collaborating with global teams to deliver on-time packaging solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in a Packaging Engineering role.
• Familiarity with packaging testing methodology (ISTA/ASTM) and packaging software (TOPS, MaxLoad Pro).

Responsibilities

• Support development of packaging solutions for new and existing products, leading packaging developments for select categories.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize packaging specifications and assembly instructions across categories.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, Design & IE, Marketing, Sourcing, Operations, and suppliers to deliver on-time packaging.
• Design, plan, and conduct packaging performance testing and document results.
• Drive packaging efficiencies with logistics, retail, and manufacturing partners.
• Develop and maintain a real-time packaging material matrix and assist PLM system inputs.
