Job summary

The Relyans Max Group in Michigan is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to develop and maintain packaging systems for automotive fasteners. You will manage customer packaging assets, create specifications, and work with Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics and Purchasing to optimize costs.

The role requires 3-5 years in packaging engineering, knowledge of returnable packaging, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 3–5 years packaging engineering/management in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience with returnable packaging systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain customer packaging specifications within supplier/customer systems.
• Manage returnable packaging assets and coordinate procurement, repair, and replacement.
• Design and standardize packaging solutions to protect parts while reducing cost.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during new product launches.
