Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and implement cost-effective packaging solutions for materials, WIP, finished goods, and service parts.

You will translate requirements into packaging specs and logistics plans, and create concepts, layouts, BOMs, and documentation. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and about five years of related experience in packaging, logistics, or manufacturing engineering, preferably in a high-volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Five years of experience in packaging engineering, logistics engineering, material flow, supply chain, or manufacturing engineering preferred (required).
• Experience working with customers, suppliers, carriers, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience supporting new product launches and production environments.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, automotive, or another high-volume industrial environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement cost-effective packaging solutions for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and service parts.
• Translate requirements into packaging specifications and logistics plans.
• Create packaging concepts, layouts, BOMs, work instructions, and related documentation.
• Perform packaging validation, load testing, transportation trials, and risk assessments to ensure protection, ergonomics, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain packaging standards, PFEP, and pack quantities.
