Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
• 7–10 years packaging experience
• Strong knowledge of color measurement and print processes
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Experience with artwork processes for printed packaging
• Excellent communication with internal/external stakeholders
• Technical expertise in materials used for consumer packaged goods
• Experience translating concept drawings to technical die lines
• Ability to drive cost savings and lean manufacturing initiatives
• Familiarity with European packaging standards and pallets

Responsibilities

• Develop packaging specifications from die lines to finished printed material
• Evaluate new packaging materials and systems for current and future products
• Specify new package designs to support product initiatives and performance
• Design packaging to maintain product integrity under various shipping conditions
• Assist with supplier due diligence
• Lead packaging projects and perform problem-solving using scientific methods
• Provide direction for packaging specifications and testing requirements
• Identify cost-out opportunities and optimize pallet utilization and trailer loads
• Run trials and lead projects beyond packaging as needed
