Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and refine packaging systems and containment components for diverse products. You will collaborate with product and manufacturing teams to optimize logistics and reduce damage in transit.

The role emphasizes development of test procedures, supplier coordination, and ongoing packaging improvements to support growth, quality, and productivity. Bachelor’s in engineering and relevant software familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or other engineering science required.
• 0–2 years experience for P1 or 3+ years for P2.
• MS Products, CAD skills, PDM systems, SAP, Teamcenter, Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop part containment package components and packaging systems and methods to meet internal and external customer needs.
• Innovate packaging improvements for new and existing accessories and finished goods to reduce damage across all shipment modes.
• Specify and develop test procedures for all packages and packaging solutions to ensure safety, quality, and density.
• Manage packaging relationships with outside suppliers and contractors and monitor performance to meet time and budget goals.
• Support new product and manufacturing teams with insight into packaging and logistics impacts of design changes.
• Analyze shipping variance data to improve packaging and securement of finished goods.
• Identify and pursue packaging cost reduction opportunities and support continuous improvement in the department.
• Communicate risks to schedules, costs, and quality promptly to mitigate issues and implement solutions.
• Seek and recommend suppliers for packaging to develop best methods.
