Job summary

Our client, a large publicly traded chemical company, seeks a Packaging Engineer to support Texas operations. You will manage projects involving design, development, manufacturing, testing and marketing of engineered plastics for food and beverage uses.

Relocation to Texas is required and relocation assistance is provided. You will lead cross-functional teams, work with Sales, Marketing, Quality and Engineering, and help bring new products from concept to commercialization.

Qualifications

• BS in Packaging Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Polymer Science.
• 3+ years of experience in plastics, plastics compounding, food grade packaging.
• Ability to lead sales/market development and bring products from concept to commercialization.
• Experience setting up and running food stability studies.
• Participates in project teams; uses market research to meet market needs.
• Identifies market trends and creates strategic product plans.
• Leads new product strategies for brands or sub-segments.
• Evaluates global needs of product marketing and sales and coordinates with cross-functional teams.
• Works with design, packaging, labeling, regulatory claims, advertising, and sales education.
