Job summary

SCN BestCo is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and commercialize packaging for solid-dose OTC and dietary supplement products, balancing protection, consumer experience, manufacturability, and speed to market. The role partners with R&D, Operations, Quality, and suppliers to qualify new packaging technology and drive cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (required).
• 4 years’ experience in packaging design and manufacturing.
• Experience in manufacturing, fulfillment, and distribution packaging environments.
• Ability to contribute to complex projects and manage them independently.
• Knowledge of Materials Management, Logistics, and Supply Chain techniques.
• Ability to read and translate CAD drawings into clear specifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate, and lead packaging projects from concept to launch across OTC/dietary supplement portfolio.
• Influence project direction with technical input and clear specifications.
• Stay current on packaging technologies and propose cost/quality improvements.
• Develop and manage packaging specs, artwork, BOMs, and change-control documentation.
• Apply structured problem solving to packaging issues and new designs for first-time success.
• Interact with Engineering, Production, Marketing, and Purchasing to assess requirements and feasibility of packaging proposals.
• Create drawings, specifications, samples, and analyses for packaging design and changes.
• Conduct machine trials to verify material suitability and production parameters.
• Collaborate with suppliers to qualify packaging materials and support on-time release.
• Travel to suppliers as needed (less than 10%).
