Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is actively expanding its West Michigan network of talented Packaging Engineers in Allegan, MI. This role focuses on designing, developing, and testing packaging for new and existing products, aligning with cross-functional teams to integrate packaging into development processes.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's in Packaging or related field, 3+ years in packaging engineering, and strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical or related field.
• 3+ years of packaging engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for package design and analysis.
• Experience with plastics, paperboard, glass, and metals as packaging materials.
• Strong knowledge of packaging machinery, automation, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with ISTA, ASTM, FDA packaging standards.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and tests packaging for new and existing products.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate packaging into the overall product development process.
• Optimizes packaging for cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Conducts material selection and testing to ensure packaging meets performance and regulatory requirements.
• Develops and maintains packaging specifications, standards, and documentation.
• Troubleshoots packaging-related issues during manufacturing and distribution.
• Stays current with industry trends and advancements in packaging materials and technologies.
