Job summary

Institute of Packaging Professionals is seeking a Packaging Engineer to join our client’s team in Summit, NJ or Fort Washington, PA. The role requires onsite work at least 2 days per week and involves design, development, testing and production scale-up of new package concepts.

The position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with R&D, marketing, supply chain and other departments, and includes documentation development and lifecycle management for packaging projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Sciences or Engineering or related field.
• Experience with cosmetics or skin care products.
• Experience writing Protocols and packaging component experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for design, development, testing and production scale-up of new packaging.
• Collaborate with R&D, marketing, market research, supply chain and process excellence to address packaging needs.
• Develop, write and route for approval package development documentation (e.g., Package Component Specifications, Pack Dev Assessment and Plan).
• Lead development and assessment of test plans, risk assessments and test results analysis for packaging initiatives.

OVERVIEW:

Our Large Consumer Manufacturing Client is seeking a Package Engineer to join their team in Summit, NJ or Fort Washington, PA. This individual will be expected to be onsite a minimum of 2 days a week. The Packaging Engineer is responsible for providing technical support in the area of design, development, testing and production scale-up of new package development while collaborating with research and development, marketing, market research, supply chain, process excellence, and other affiliated departments to identify and address packaging needs. They will be develop, write, gain cross-functional alignment, and route for approval package development documentation that captures the above end-to-end project specific information. Some examples of documentations would include Package Component Specifications, Package Development Assessment and Plan documents, Packaging Line Trial Protocols and Reports, Package Development Reports, etc. They will lead the development and assessment of the following types of information to support package development and life cycle management initiatives, including but not limited to the following activities: design requirements, definition of the scope of change, packaging and equipment solution proposals, prior knowledge and knowledge gap assessments, risk assessments, test plans, and test results analysis and conclusions.

COMPENSATION:

$40/hr to $50/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
