Otis Worldwide Corporation in Florence, SC is seeking a Packaging Engineer who will design, develop, validate, and implement packaging solutions to protect components, assemblies, and elevator systems during storage, handling, and transportation.

The role partners with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Sourcing, and Product Engineering to reduce damage and waste, improve pack density, support NPI, and drive cost and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• At least 3 years of engineering experience in packaging, manufacturing, logistics or related discipline.
• Preferred: 5+ years in industrial packaging, with exposure to design, validation, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and implement packaging solutions for components, assemblies and elevator systems to protect during storage, handling, and transportation.
• Lead packaging improvement projects to reduce damage, improve pack density, minimize waste and lower total packaging cost.
• Support NPI by developing packaging specs, validation plans, and testing requirements.
• Perform root-cause investigations (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) related to transit damage and quality issues.
• Develop and maintain packaging standards, drawings, BOMs and labeling; collaborate with suppliers and logistics providers.
