Job summary

BMW Group in Spartanburg, SC, is seeking a Packaging Development Intern for Spring 2027. You will support the Packaging Planning Team, analyze packaging concepts for future models, and help optimize packaging to reduce environmental impact and logistics costs.

The internship requires on-site, full-time (40 hours/week) work and runs January 11–May 14, 2027. Qualified students must be Packaging/Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain majors, with SAP knowledge preferred, German/Spanish language

Qualifications

  • Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain / Logistics student status.
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
  • German and/or Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Logistics knowledge preferred.
  • Maintain minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (not just in major).
  • Must be enrolled as a student at a US four-year college or university.
  • Complete at least 30 credit hours by application time.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • Must attach a copy of unofficial transcript.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • Work term dates: January 11th – May 14th, 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Packaging Planning Team.
  • Support BMW Packaging Planners with daily activities and analysis of packaging concepts for future models.
  • Analyze existing packaging (steel and non-steel) for environmental/logistics cost optimizations.
  • Provide general support for packaging modifications and projects.
  • Moderate Packaging Planning Meetings and reviews for new/modified containers.
