Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) in Marshfield, WI invites applications for a Designer Intern on the Design Team. You will collaborate with customers and team members to evaluate needs, design packaging, build prototypes, and produce samples that meet cost and aesthetic goals.

You will prepare CAD specifications for production and partner with colleagues to optimize department and manufacturing efficiency while delivering high-quality design solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in the Packaging Engineering program at the University of Wisconsin - Stout.
• Knowledge of corrugated structural design principals.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & visual).
• Creative thinking and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts.
• Close attention to detail and commitment to flawless execution.
• Technical understanding, must be proficient in the use of CAD software, Microsoft Office, materials and manufacturing process.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and team to evaluate needs and design packaging.
• Build prototypes and make samples for customer review and approval.
• Submit CAD specifications for production during manufacturing.
• Provide guidance to optimize department and manufacturing efficiency.
• Support production teams with design improvements and documentation.
