Job summary

ORBIS Corporation is seeking a Custom Packaging Design Engineer Co-Op to support the design team with packaging designs and prototypes based on customer specs. You’ll gain hands-on experience in materials and manufacturing processes, becoming proficient in SolidWorks and final prints, managing projects from concept through execution.

From June 2027 to December 2027, you’ll learn design fundamentals, collaborate with the team, and prepare for production with safety and quality in mind.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Technical or Bachelor’s degree in Plastic Engineering Technology, Packaging Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of plastic processing, mechanical engineering, and packaging engineering.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Experience with design software: AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage assigned project/projects.
• Provide design samples to meet customer needs in a timely basis.
• Create cost-effective and manufacturable designs from concept to production.
• Ensure designs meet customer needs with technical judgment.
• Fabricate a prototype to approve design quality before manufacturing.
• Suggest improvements during assembly and manufacturing.
