Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is a leader in sustainable packaging, providing cost estimates for projects using proprietary software and vendor data. The Cost Estimator identifies standard items, determines costs for raw materials, tooling, and outsourced work, and collaborates with Sales and Project Management on pricing and quotes.

You will produce accurate production plans, support cross-functional teams, and deliver timely reports and presentations, while adhering to quality and safety standards across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2-4 years estimating experience.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
• Excellent verbal, written, and virtual communication skills.
• Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to use basic algebra and geometry to calculate figures and amounts.
• Must be competent in computer skills including email, databases, word processing, spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Accurately estimate costs for specific projects.
• Participate in new technology introductions and implementations.
• Communicate with internal customers to meet needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes.
• Create clear reports and presentations; share information timely.
• Maintain accurate production plans with suppliers.
• Determine costs of raw materials, consumables, and outsourced production.
• Track estimate vs actual costs and identify trends.
• Review production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
