About the Role:

The Packaging Clerk packages materials and customer products manually and inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of the packaging process, to assure packaging meets customer requirements. This individual packs and adjusts the quantity of products to ensure that items fit securely in boxes to prevent damage during shipment.

Packaging Clerk Responsibilities:

1. Obtains and sorts products
2. Washes parts and dries with air compressor
3. Prepares boxes or special packaging/shipping kits to ship materials
4. Cleans packaging containers, such as boxes or special packaging/shipping kits, by emptying them and wiping them out
5. Lines and pads crates and assembles cartons for shipping
6. Selects appropriate packaging materials to prevent items from being damaged during shipment
7. Wraps protective material around product
8. Seals product with protective plastic packaging
9. Labels containers, container tags, or products for shipping, stock, or assembly
10. Verifies quantity and labeling of products and items ready for shipment
11. Secures containers by closing and sealing
12. Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
