Morgan-Steel-LLC-1 is seeking a Packaging Clerk to prepare, package, label, and verify outgoing materials and shipments. The role supports shipping and warehouse teams to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries and maintains documentation and inventory records.

Responsibilities include inspecting shipments, using forklifts, and following safety protocols. A high school diploma and at least 1 year of shipping/packaging experience are preferred; ERP/warehouse software familiarity is a plus.

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping systems or ERP software.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, bills of lading, and material tags.

The Packaging Clerk is responsible for preparing, packaging, labeling, and verifying outgoing materials, products, and shipments. This position ensures all outgoing orders meet company quality standards and customer requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and inventory tracking. The Packaging Clerk works closely with shipping, warehouse, and production personnel to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesVerify and prepare materials, products, and orders for shipment according to shipping documents and customer requirements.Package, band, wrap, and label materials safely and securely to prevent damage during transport.Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed to move and stage materials.Check outgoing shipments against BOLs, packing lists, and sales orders to ensure accuracy.Weigh and measure packages or skids for accurate freight documentation.Maintain accurate shipping logs, paperwork, and records in accordance with company procedures.Assist with loading and unloading trucks; confirm material placement according to shipment order sequence.Coordinate with drivers, logistics staff, and warehouse personnel to ensure on-time loading and dispatch.Inspect packaged products for quality and completeness prior to shipment.Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE (e.g., gloves, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hi-vis vest).Maintain a clean and organized shipping and packaging area.Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately to the Shipping Supervisor.Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy as required.Assist in other warehouse or production duties as assigned.Perform all other duties as assigned.High school diploma or GED required.Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping, packaging, or warehouse operations preferred.Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.Basic computer skills (knowledge of shipping systems, inventory software, or ERP preferred).Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling, documentation, and packaging.Ability to read and interpret work orders, bills of lading, and material tags.Effective communication skills and teamwork with other departments.
