Job summary

GH Metal Solutions in Fort Payne, AL is seeking a Shipping Clerk responsible for preparing shipments, generating BOLs, processing receipts, and moving material between processes. The role supports inventory accuracy and quality controls, ensuring smooth production flow and on-time deliveries.

You will operate a forklift, create labels, and maintain documentation, while upholding safety standards and professional interaction with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in shipping/receiving preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with problem solving abilities.
• Basic Math and understanding of blueprints is required.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Prepare paperwork for shipments (BOL, manifest, dock audits) ensuring product identification matches in terms of weight, piece counts, identified parts, packaging requirements and delivery method.
• Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Accurately create labels and shipping paperwork and affix shipping labels on packaged product.
• Operate forklift to move product/shipments.
• Record information on required process paperwork, charts, checklists, or other control sheets.
• Upload shipping related documentation to systems and file hardcopies for compliance.

Job Summary

The Fabrication job family ensures an environment of continuous improvement exists in the organizations production processes, operating procedures and workflows in order to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction. General areas of responsibility include ensuring smooth production flow and perform product inspections. The clerk will be responsible for preparing shipments and shipping documentation, processing material receipts, and facilitating material movement between processes and facilities.

POSITION PURPOSE:This position is accountable for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for outgoing product shipments.
