Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Understands and follows instructions from Team Leaders or Production Manager.
• Reviews production orders and special instructions; seeks clarification if needed.
• Communicates with Material Handlers to meet material requirements.
• Verifies product quality meets customer and Jessup standards; reports defects.
• Calculates material usage and records on work orders.
• Labels finished product with part numbers, work orders, lot numbers, and customer info.
• Identifies packaging problems and reports to Team Leader or Production Manager.
• Suggests process improvements to improve quality, efficiency, safety, and communication.
• Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality per employee handbook.
• Follows safety practices and keeps area clean and orderly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Team Leader.

POSITION SUMMARY

Packages products assigned in accordance with production orders, production schedules, and quality standards

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands instructions given by the Team Leaders or Production Manager and follows them accurately. Asks questions when uncertain
• Reviews and understands the production order and any special instructions. Asks for clarification if required
• Communicates with Material Handlers material requirements to meet production or packaging demands
• Verifies the quality of the products will meet or exceed the quality standards of both the customer and Jessup Manufacturing. Able to detect defects in material. Reports defects to Team Leader
• Calculates all material usage accurately and neatly and records on work orders
• Labels all finished product with accurate part numbers, work order numbers, lot numbers, customer information, and any other information required to efficiently process the product. Label unused raw material for return to warehouse
• Recognizes existing or potential packaging problems and reports to Team Leader or Production Manager
• Suggests process improvements to improve quality, efficiency, safety and communication
• Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality according to the JMC employee handbook
• Follows all safety practices and immediately corrects or reports unsafe conditions. Maintains a clean and orderly work area
• Exhibits the Jessup Success Factors while performing the responsibilities
• Performs other duties as assigned by Team Leader

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school or equivalent

• Ability to read and understand production orders and verbal instructions

• Must be able to push, pull, or make other movements to transfer material from one location to other. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. of weight
