Job summary

Trident Seafoods Corporation is seeking a Packaging Operator to join our production team in Minnesota. You will tend and monitor packaging lines, ensuring items are correctly counted and packed according to standards, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to count by multiples 2s and 3s to place correct number of items into packages.

Responsibilities

  • Tends machine to feed product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices.
  • Removes product from platforms/conveyors and packs into preformed pouches.
  • Counts items packed to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Monitors product feed into pasteurizers.
  • Places product on grill marker belt.
  • Ensures product packages are placed on conveyor according to company standards
  • Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications
  • Removes irregular product and any foreign material found in product. Reports irregularities to the Quality Assurance Technician, Lead Person or Supervisor.
  • Reviews workspace for cleanliness and safety concerns.
  • Uses personal protective gear PPE per company standards to ensure safe operation of machinery or tools, and safe use of chemical cleaning agents.
  • Disassembles and reassembles the production line and equipment as necessary for cleaning.
  • Cleans and Sanitizes production equipment, tools and work area per Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP</p>

Responsibilities

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Summary:

Packages product by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions:

Preferred Education & Experiences:

  • Three-to-six-month food manufacturing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

Skills:

  • Ability to count by multiples 2s and 3s to place correct number of items into packages.

Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret simple written instructions and follow established procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with coworkers.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet, humid and cold conditions, and moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products.

Work Ability Requirements:

Employees regularly bend or lean at waist level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or grasp packages and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel and crouch

The employee lifts and carries objects up to 5 lbs regularly and up to 25 lbs occasionally
