Job summary

Steel Technologies in Crawfordsville, IN is seeking a Packager to set up and operate banding equipment to package materials for shipment to customers. You will work with finished goods and gain deeper insight into customer requirements and end products.

Responsibilities include preparing skids, operating banding lines and cranes, ensuring proper packaging per specifications, and safe handling of materials. Employment includes competitive benefits and growth opportunities in a metal packaging

Qualifications

• Ability to use tape measure, micrometers, and calipers.
• Pass necessary Forklift Certification and/or Crane Training
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

• Package material to meet customer specifications per customer supplied information and standard packaging instructions.
• Ensure proper identification and segregation.
• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to transport materials to and from storage areas, workstations, and working within areas of assignment.
• Safely handle material without damage.
• Clean packaging area or any other assigned area.
• Maintain production standards.
• Load, transport, unload, and stack materials in accordance with established procedures.

Description

As a Packager at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to setup and operate banding equipment to properly package materials and prepare for shipment to our customers. In this role, you will have exposure to our finished goods and learn more about our customers and end product.

• Package material to meet customer specifications per customer supplied information and standard packaging instructions
