Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC in Smyrna, TN is seeking a Packager to set up and operate banding equipment to package materials for shipment. You will work with finished goods and gain exposure to customers and end products.

Shifts: Mon-Thu 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. starting pay $16.75 up to $18.75; and Mon-Thu 3:30 p.m.–2:00 a.m. Benefits include medical, dental, vision after 60 days, 401(k) and paid time off starting after 90 days, holidays from day one, tuition assistance, and more.

Qualifications

• Ability to use tape measure, micrometers, and calipers.
• Pass Forklift Certification and/or Crane Training.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare skids to customer specifications.
• Operate turnstile, down layer, banding line equipment and crane as needed to package material.
• Package material to meet customer specifications per customer supplied information and standard packaging instructions.
• Ensure proper identification and segregation.
• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to transport materials to and from storage areas, workstations, and working within areas of assignment.
• Safely handle material without damage.
• Clean packaging area or any other assigned area.
• Maintain production standards.
• Load, transport, unload, and stack materials in accordance with established procedures.

Job description

As a Packager at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to setup and operate banding equipment to properly package materials and prepare for shipment to our customers. In this role, you will have exposure to our finished goods and learn more about our customers and end product.

Monday-Thursday 5:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Starting pay $16.75 up to $18.75

Monday Thursday 3:30 p.m.- 2:00 a.m.

How you’ll contribute to our company:

• Prepare skids to customer specifications
• Operate turnstile, down layer, banding line equipment and crane as needed to package material
• Package material to meet customer specifications per customer supplied information and standard packaging instructions
